Did you receive registration or Election-related mail?
Official mail from a Board of Elections office will always be:
- A 5.5 x 3.75 inch yellow or green card mailed from 1128 S. Main St. Graham, NC 27253
- An letter from the Director of Elections regarding a polling place change or other administrative matter, from the same address
- Rare communication from the State Board of Elections, court-ordered or otherwise related to legal decisions
Third-party groups are legally allowed to send out packages of information encouraging registration or otherwise Election-related, often including real registration forms. This can be confusing to those not familiar with registration administrative details.
Boards of Elections’ oversee and approve voter registration forms, they do not actively send them out en masse by mail.
The approval of third-party mass mailings and communications with organizations sending them are handled by the State Board of Elections. More information on these mailings can be found at their website (currently at this link).
Have you received a Voter Registration Card for someone who does not live at your address?
Please write on the mailing: “NOT AT THIS ADDRESS,” draw a line through the barcode under the address and place back in your mailbox. No postage is necessary. In order for us to remove the voter from your address, we need their signature OR two (2) pieces of returned mail.
