Candidate Filing for 2023 has begun!

Candidate filing for the 2023 Municipal Election (and the associated 2023 Burlington Primary, if necessary) began at 12:00pm today. Filing will continue until 12:00pm on July the 21st.

Each day (unless no candidates file on a given day) the lists of filed candidates for Burlington and filed candidates for Alamance County’s other municipalities will be posted separately in the featured information section of our homepage. The lists will be posted between 4:00pm and 5:00pm. If a candidate comes to file after 4:00pm their name will be listed on the next day’s list.

The lists will be separate because Burlington is the only municipality with the possibility of a Primary. If it becomes apparent that a Primary will be necessary for either Burlington contest, this will be noted there as well.

ACBOE News Release

To avoid any confusion, be sure when you are voting at One Stop Early Voting that you have seen and voted in every contest that you wished to! Check the summary screen displayed at the end of the ExpressVote’s electronically displayed ballot (the last three pages before the page with the ‘Print’ button on it) to ensure you did not miss any.

If you do not see a candidate that you wished to vote for on the machine, call a Poll Worker over BEFORE printing and casting your ballot so they can help you locate them or determine that they are in a contest that is outside of your district.
